God With Us

Pastor’s Corner

Matthew 1:21-23 (ESV) "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, (which means, God with us)."

On Christmas we celebrate God joining himself to humanity! The God of creation who sometimes feels far away shows us just how close he really is, held in the arms of a Mother and Father. The birth of Jesus is the proclamation that God is with us! Jesus is the hope of humanity and the one way to eternal life with God. God’s perfect love leads Jesus from the manger to the cross where he pays the price for all of our sin and becomes the savior of humanity. Remember as you gather for Christmas this year that you are celebrating the birth of our savior and God. And remember Jesus is still “Immanuel” God with us today.
