Seek First the Kingdom

Pastor's Corner

Matthew 6:33 ESV "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

(Read all of Matthew 6 here)

Jesus is telling you not to worry about the practical necessities of life. He promises that if you set your gaze each day on His kingdom and his righteousness he will provide for you! This is an amazing promise. If you take Jesus at his word you will find a new level of freedom every day.  This is not an excuse to be lazy or not work. Instead, it is a re-prioritization of putting God’s Kingdom first in everything you do. Seeking first the Kingdom always starts in prayer and is carried through your actions and interactions. God wants to immerse your whole life in his purpose and presence. When we seek first God’s Kingdom the rest of our life falls into place.
