The Promise of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:37-39 ESV

"Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?' And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.'"

Everything in the Christian life is a gift of grace received through faith. Faith is the choice to trust and follow Jesus. Grace is the power and mercy God gives to make it possible. Every promise in scripture is received in this way. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is no exception. If you desire to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, start walking towards it in faith. Ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. Read verses about this promise and pray with others to receive the gift. This is not about works. It is about hungering for and surrendering to the will of God in your life. Acts 2:39 “For the promise is for you and for you children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord God calls to himself.” This promise is for you!
