Weekly Pastor’s Corner:

The Humble Life

Jesus calls everyone who follows him to clothe themselves in humility. Although humility by its nature is easy to overlook, it is actually one of the most powerful and important of christian virtues. When Jesus entered into humanity he humbled himself. When Jesus spent time with the broken, sinful, and the sick he humbled himself. When Jesus, the king of glory, went to the cross to make atonement for the sins of the world, he chose to clothe himself with humility. Humility is the highway of grace. It is one of the greatest tools of Gospel ministry. When we choose to humble ourselves we allow the power of God’s grace to work in us and through us.

Philippians 2: 3-4 (ESV) “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
